Porencephaly (Greek enkephalos, brain) is an abnormal communication between the lateral ventricle and the surface of the brain; porokeratosis (Greek keras, kerat‑, horn) is a skin disease in which lesions develop as annular horny ridges; porosimetry is the measurement of the size of pores in materials; a porometer is an instrument for estimating the sizes of the stomata of leaves by measuring the rate at which air can be passed through them.
