The chrysanthemum was given that name because its flowers were gold in colour; the Greeks named the pupa of an insect a crysalis because some that they knew had a metallic gold sheen; chrysotherapy is the treatment of certain diseases, especially rheumatoid arthritis, with gold compounds; crysolite, crysotile, and chrysoberyl are minerals that are sometimes yellowish in colour.
