ganglio-

Ganglion.

English ganglion, from Greek.

A ganglion is a structure containing a number of nerve cell bodies, often forming a swelling on a nerve fibre; the related adjective is ganglionic, less often ganglionar. A ganglioside is one of a group of complex lipids particularly abundant in nerve cell membranes; a gangliocytoma is a tumour involving ganglionic cells.
