-osity
Forming nouns.

Nouns in -osity are formed from adjectives. One set comes from those ending in -ose (see -ose1), such as adiposity (from adipose, body tissue used for the storage of fat), bellicosity (from bellicose, warlike), or verbosity (from verbose). A second set derives from adjectives in -ous, such as curiosity (from curious), generosity (from generous), monstrosity (from monstrous), and pomposity (from pompous). See also -ity.
