A tonometer is either a tuning fork or other instrument for measuring the pitch of musical tones, or an instrument for measuring the pressure in a part of the body; a tonoplast (Greek plastos, formed) is a membrane around the vacuole of a plant cell; tonology is the branch of linguistics that deals with tones and intonation in speech.
