Dacryoadenitis (Greek adēn, gland) is inflammation of the gland that produces tears; dacryocystitis (Greek kustis, bladder) is inflammation of one of the sacs between the eye and the nose in which tears collect; dacryocystorhinostomy (Greek rhis, rhin‑, nose; stoma, mouth) is an operation to restore passage from this sac into the nose through the drainage duct.
