The ischium.

Latin, from Greek iskhion, hip joint.

The ischium is the curved bone forming the base of each half of the pelvis. Anatomical terms refer to the ischium plus another part of the body: ischiorectal, ischiopubic, ischiofemoral, ischioanal.
