Greek mēn, month.

The menopause is the ceasing of menstruation; menorrhoea (Greek rhoia, flow, flux) is the flow of blood at menstruation; menorrhagia (Greek ‑rrhag‑, stem of Greek rhēgnunai, to burst), is abnormally heavy bleeding at menstruation. Terms such as menstruation and menstrual derive from the Latin equivalent mensis, via menstrua.
