English mucus plus ‑o‑.

The adjective mucocutaneous (Latin cutis, skin) refers to the mucous membranes and the skin together; the mucopolysaccharides are a group of compounds which are components of connective tissue; an agent that is mucolytic (Greek ‑lutikos, able to loosen) dissolves or breaks down mucus; something mucopurulent (Latin pus, pur‑, pus) contains both mucus and pus.
