musculo-

Muscle.

Latin musculus, muscle.

Terms containing this form are adjectives for muscles plus another part of the body, of which the most common example is musculoskeletal, denoting the musculature and skeleton together. Others are musculotendinous, muscles and tendons; musculocutaneous (Latin cutis, skin), muscles and skin. These are often hyphenated, though musculoskeletal is usually so written.
