nas(o)-

Also nasi‑

The nose.

Latin nasus, nose.

The adjective nasal relates to the nose; the nasion is the point on the bridge of the nose at the centre of the suture between the nasal and frontal bones. Several terms in medicine indicate the nose plus another part of the body: a nasogastric tube reaches or supplies the stomach via the nose; the nasopharynx is the upper part of the pharynx, connecting with the nasal cavity above the soft palate; nasolabial refers to the nose and lip; nasolacrimal (Latin lacrima, tear) refers to the nasal cavity and the associated tear ducts.
