Existence or being.
Greek ōn, ont‑, being.
Ontogenesis (Greek genesis, birth) is the development of an individual organism or anatomical or behavioural feature from the earliest stage to maturity; ontogeny is the branch of biology that deals with ontogenesis, while ontology is the branch of metaphysics dealing with the nature of being.
