The mouth.

Latin os, or‑, mouth.

In medicine, adjective oropharyngeal refers to the part of the pharynx that lies between the soft palate and the hyoid bone; orofacial refers to the mouth and face; oronasal to the mouth and nose. Related general terms are oral, of the mouth or of things spoken rather than written; orotund, of a voice or phrasing that is full and imposing (Latin ore rotundo, with rounded mouth); and orifice (Latin facere, make), an opening, particularly one in the body.
